Hi there. I'm John.

I'm a retired teacher from the United States, and somewhere along the way, the internet decided to make me famous. I'm still not quite sure how that happened — but I'm grateful every single day.

I started posting with one simple idea: get people off their phones and outside. Because the world is still out there — the grass, the trees, the sky — and so are the people who'd love to be your friend, if you'd only look up long enough to meet them.

In less than a year, the Touch Grass movement took off. Millions of people sharing photos of their feet in the dirt, their hands in the water, their faces in the sun. It turned out a whole lot of people were just waiting for permission to go outside.

That's all I am. Just a guy who thinks life is better when you're living it.
